Where does Windows XP store the evrironment variables?

In the registry the User environment variables are stored at

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Environment

and the System environment variables are stored at

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment
